• (NEW) Implicit Bias: Beginning June 1, 2022 all physicians (MD/DO) and physician assistants (PA) must complete implicit bias training as a condition of license renewal. The new requirement can only be completed via live or online interactive methods. Licensees will need one (1) hour of training for each year of their license cycle since the rule’s promulgation date of June 1, 2021. Therefore, one (1) hour of training is required for all licensees renewing between 6/1/22 - 5/31/23. This training is in addition to any continuing education required. • Opioids and Controlled Substance Awareness: Beginning with 2022 renewal cycles, licensees who prescribe controlled substances must certify on their renewal application that they have completed a one-time training in Opioids and Controlled Substance Awareness that meets the standards established in Administrative Rule 338.3135.
• Pain & Symptom Management: A minimum of three (3) credit hours of continuing medical education/training must
be earned in pain and symptom Management for all physicians (MD/DO).
• Medical Ethics: medical doctors (MD) must complete a minimum of one (1) hour in medical ethics.
